    Description

    Article no.: TAU-306-10

    Description

Tau aggregates are a defining hallmark of several neurodegenerative disorders collectively termed tauopathies, including Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia, where intracellular inclusions are associated with progressive neuronal dysfunction and degeneration.

Tau 306–378, also referred to as the PHF core, is a truncated fragment of the microtubule-associated protein tau corresponding to residues 306–378 of the human tau sequence. This region comprises the core amyloid-forming segment found within paired helical filaments, including aggregation-prone motifs that are central to tau self-assembly into fibrillar structures. Due to its direct relevance to the structural core of pathological tau filaments, Tau 306–378 is commonly used as a model fragment for studying tau fibrillization, filament formation, and tau-related neurodegenerative pathology.
