    Description

    Article no.: TAU-297-10

    Description

Tau aggregates are a defining hallmark of several neurodegenerative disorders collectively termed tauopathies, including Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia, where intracellular inclusions are associated with progressive neuronal dysfunction and degeneration.

Tau dGAE (297–391) is a truncated fragment of the microtubule-associated protein tau, corresponding to residues 297–391 of the human tau sequence. This region contains part of the microtubule-binding repeat domain, including aggregation-prone motifs that are important for tau self-assembly into fibrillar structures. Due to its strong tendency to aggregate, Tau dGAE is commonly used as a model fragment for studying tau fibrillization, aggregation mechanisms, and tau-related neurodegenerative pathology.
