    Description

    Article no.: TAU-410-10

    Description

Tau aggregates are a defining hallmark of several neurodegenerative disorders collectively termed tauopathies, including Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia, where intracellular inclusions are associated with progressive neuronal dysfunction and degeneration.

Tau 410 (2N3R) is a human isoform of the microtubule-associated protein tau, comprising 410 amino acids generated by alternative splicing of the MAPT gene. In vivo, tau is primarily involved in the stabilization and assembly of neuronal microtubules, thereby supporting axonal transport and maintaining cytoskeletal integrity. The 2N3R isoform contains two N-terminal inserts and three microtubule-binding repeat domains.
